The US has had more than our fair share of hurricanes and natural disasters this past decade. This poem, though concise resonates with so much that I believe in. Every time that a major event happens I always question why. And with every single why comes the same empty answer. Silence. Please keep all those affected by Hurricane Irene in your prayers. To all my wonderful friends in the Bahamas, I hope all of you are safe. You are all in my prayers.

Great New York will shut its subways
Even New Jersey’s casinos will close
Reminded again how little
Is the power we truly have.
